Kalanchoe

Kalanchoe is a genus of over 125 succulent plant species native to Africa and Asia. Most kalanchoes have thick, fleshy leaves that conserve water in arid climates.

Popular species include the vivid red-edged Kalanchoe luciae, fuzzy-leaved Kalanchoe tomentosa, and Kalanchoe blossfeldiana which blooms with clusters of small vibrant flowers.

The paddle plant (Kalanchoe thyrsiflora) has thick, rounded, rubbery leaves. Many kalanchoes like Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi produce plantlets along the leaf margins.

Kalanchoes’ drought tolerance and compact growth make them ideal for containers. They also add unique textures and patterns as accent plants for indoor and outdoor spaces. Kalanchoes care is easy and doesn’t require a green thumb to cultivate.
