Live organic sansevieria trifasciata is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo. It is most commonly known as the snake plant, mother-in-law’s tongue, and viper’s bowstring hemp, among other names. You will receive 1 live plant in a pot 3″ or 4″ with soil. Easy to grow plant, great for offices and dark rooms without any sunlight and windows. Hard to kill house plant.

NOTE: For the live plants orders we ship on Monday – Wed only to prevent the live plants from sitting over the weekend before delivery.

Plant origin: North Florida

Shipping notes: Because your plant has been in a box without sunlight for a few days in shipping, it might decide to yellow and drop few leaves when it first arrives. This is normal. (If it loses all leaves, this is not normal, and you should contact us.) Adjust your plant to the light very slow, don’t put it on bright sun right away, wait for about 5 days.

Grown and available all year from sunny North Florida, without the use of pesticides.

It is an evergreen perennial plant forming dense stands, spreading by way of its creeping rhizome, which is sometimes above ground, sometimes underground. Its stiff leaves grow vertically from a basal rosette. Mature leaves are dark green with light gray-green cross-banding and usually range between 70–90 centimeters (28–35 in) long and 5–6 centimeters (2.0–2.4 in) wide.

The specific epithet trifasciata means “three bundles”.

In China, it was kept as a treasured houseplant because the Eight Gods bestowed their eight virtues on those who grew them

Extremely hardy house plant, difficult to kill

Will grow in dim light, water when dry

The variety of Snake Plant will vary with the season

Growing the Snake Plant is easy. It will thrive in very bright light to almost dark corners of the house. Just water when the soil is dry.

  1. Plant arrived rotted. I’m trying to rehab, but it is not looking good. This has been my first negative experience ordering plants online. Super bummed.
