Cylindropuntia Imbricata (Tree Cholla ) is a tree-like cactus with a short, woody, and strong trunk and plenty of joints separating its cylindrical stems. It has long and sharp spines. As they mature, they produce large, bright pink to purple flowers and fruits. It is native to North and South America.
These cacti appreciate full sun and well-drained cactus soil. Growing them in warm and dry conditions is their happy place. Like any other cactus plant, they are drought tolerant, so it doesn’t need frequent watering.
Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a cactus and succulent fertilizer will help them grow healthy. The easiest way to propagate them is via stem cuttings.
You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zones 5-11.
