Ficus Elastica (Rubber Plant Tineke) is a popular ornamental plant with beautiful, broad, shiny, and attractive leaves that are perfect for indoor setup. It is native to eastern parts of South and Southeast Asia and thrives in bright indirect light and a well-drained soil mix. You can plant them in a beautiful pot and place them in the corner where they can attract the guest while sitting on the couch, which can add modern interior decor to your space.
It is a lovely addition to your collection of plants, especially if you have it displayed in a beautiful pot. Growing them is easy as long as you provide water, light, and humidity to thrive. Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot.
Rubber plant has a natural air purifier property. It cleans all the toxins in the air, making your home clean and fresh air to breathe. You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zones 10-12.
Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a weak liquid fertilizer will help them produce more leaves and grow healthy. The best way to propagate them is via leaf tip cuttings. Watch out for mealybugs, scales, and mites.
Use insecticidal soap or neem oil to eliminate them.

Lighting: Ficus elastica Tineke does best indoors with bright, indirect light. It will tolerate lower light conditions but with less creamy variegation on the new leaves.
Temperature: Indoors maintain average room temperatures above 55° degrees Fahrenheit with medium humidity levels. Consider adding a humidifier to increase humidity.
Inconsistent temperature, sudden temperature drops or cold drafts, and dry conditions can affect this Ficus.
The Ficus is a relatively low maintenance house plant. Take care not to overwater rubber plants. If the roots sit in water, they can suffer from root rot and fungus gnats can become an issue.
The indoor ficus will still seek watering according to the natural growing season. Water your plant more during the summer months and scale back during the winter months.
During warmer months feed your plant once per month with a half-strength balanced liquid fertilizer.

I think we suffered a little stress from the journey as it lost 3 or 4 leaves and the box it was in was damaged. But the plant is coming around and starting to recover because it is a very healthy plant.
