Flame Violets — Episcia

Flame Violets(Episcia) are native to the tropical climate of North and South America. This gorgeous plant has green, coppery brown, lavender, or pink, with light green or silver veins, and they produce little trumpet-shaped flowers as they mature. It has attractive foliage that adds color to your home.

You can plant them in a hanging basket and place them on a bookshelf, where they cascade their beautiful foliage. Flame Violets appreciate bright, indirect sunlight, moist, well-drained soil, and a high-humidity environment to thrive. Avoid them to direct sunlight which can cause leaf scorch.

Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Fertilizing them during their growing season from spring through fall using a general-purpose fertilizer will help them grow healthy. You can propagate them via stem cuttings.
