Hatiora salicornioides (Dancing Bones Cactus) is a unique succulent composed of many small tubelike branches that grow upright and are also known as ‘Dancing Bones’. It has green stems that produce small yellow flowers and develop small berries as they mature. In their native habitat, they can grow in tree trunks.

You can grow them indoors and outdoors. When growing indoors, plant them in a hanging basket and place them on bookshelves where they cascade down their beautiful foliage for spectacular visuals. Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot.

It is native to the tropical rainforest of Brazil, where they thrive in bright and indirect light and well-drained soil mix. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a liquid fertilizer will help them bloom into healthy one. You can propagate them via cuttings.

You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zone 10a-11b at 30-50 degrees F.
