Echinocactus Grusonii (Golden Barrel Cactus) is a rare and endangered cactus in the wild. It is a beautiful type of succulent called golden ball or mother-in-law’s cushion. Its circular shape with thorns stem or trunk makes them exquisitely unique.
This cactus can be used as a landscape for security in your front yard or backyard due to its multiple spines sitting in its rib-like flesh. Golden Barrel Cactus is native to Southwestern US and Mexico. Growing them doesn’t need much care and attention once established.
Allow the soil to dry out before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. They can grow up to 2 feet tall in full sun to partial shade. Fertilizing them during their growing season using a high-potassium fertilizer in summer will help them grow healthy.
You can propagate them via seeds.
