Hoya Pubicalyx is a beautiful vining plant that is native to the tropical climate of the Philippines. It has thick, long, waxy green leaves with white spots that love to climb in a trellis or cascade down its foliage for spectacular visual. As they mature, they produce clusters of fragrant star-shaped flowers.
It thrives in bright and indirect light, well-drained soil, and high-humidity environments. You can plant them in a pot and place them in an area where they can get enough sunlight to thrive. They are easy to grow and easy to care for once established.
It is a lovely addition to your collection of plants, especially if you have it displayed in a beautiful pot. Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole to prevent root rot. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a high-potassium fertilizer will help them produce more flowers.
Watch out for mealybugs, aphids, and whiteflies. Use insecticidal soap to kill them. You can propagate them via cuttings or seeds.

Hoya or Wax Plant
Location: South, east, or west window. Good light is vital.
Height: Climbs and Trails. Give a piece of bark or small trellis in the pot to climb on.
Soil: Compost, leaf mold and sand. For prolific flowering grow pot bound.
Watering. Keep dry in autumn, and water copiously in late winter when in bud and flower.
Special Care: In autumn keep cool and dry with only enough water to prevent the leaves from shriveling, but give weekly plant food. In January bring to warmth, increase the water supply and spray foliage. Handle carefully, leaving new spurs undisturbed, as they are the source of flowers and next year’s blooms will also be on them.
