Madagascar Palm (Pachypodium lamerei) is a succulent plant that is native to Southern Madagascar. It has a silvery trunk with spines and long, slender, dark-green foliage and produces white, yellow, pink, or red flowers as they mature. Madagascar palm can grow indoors and outdoors.
If grown indoors, plant them in a pot and place them in an area where they can get enough sunlight to thrive. Provide them with cactus compost, loam, sand, and well-drained soil. It thrives in full sun to partial shade in a west-facing window.
Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the to prevent root rot. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a general-purpose liquid houseplant fertilizer will help them grow healthy. You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zones 9-11.
This plant is toxic to humans and pets, so make sure not to mingle with them. The best way to propagate them is via seeds and stem cuttings.

Native to southern Madagascar, the Madagascar palm (Pachypodium lamerei) is a member of the succulent and cactus family. Even though this plant has the name “palm”, it is not actually a palm tree at all. It is a stem succulent, photosynthesizing mainly through its trunk. It has large thorns and leaves mostly just at the top of the plant, and large, fragrant flowers.

Refund Policy
Pot Hedz Plant Shop does not accept returns of plants, but we do offer a plant replacement policy. Please take a photo of your plant and email us at [email protected] within 24 hours of your plant being delivered to start the replacement process on all Pot Hedz Plants except where noted otherwise. It is at our discretion to determine whether a replacement, refund (partial or full) or store credit will be issued. We may request further documentation and photos.
