Monstera Adansonii (Wide Form)
Only 2 available and it's in 3 people's basket
The Swiss cheese plant, Monstera adansonii, gets its name from its large, heart-shaped leaves, and as the plant ages, the leaves develop holes (called fenestration) that makes the leaves resemble Swiss cheese. Swiss cheese plant is a tropical perennial plant native to Central and South American that is typically grown as a houseplant. Swiss cheese plant is very easy to grow. It loves to climb, so provide a stake, moss stick, or trellis that it can clink to. A climbing Monstera adansonii produces larger leaves.
Weight 1 lbs
Monstera adansonii is a very unique plant commonly called the swiss cheese plant due to all the holes in the foliage. There seem to be several clones on the market. This wide clone has a more rounded leaf with the leaves also seem darker with some odd lighter veins which are not extremely noticeable but I usually look for it when identifying the different clones. It also seems to have a little bit of a sheen to the leaf. This clone was actually very rare but later it was cloned and now more available. A great house plant for a vine pole or in a hanging basket.
General Monstera Care Tips:
- Light: While most can tolerate low light, they prefer indirect medium bright light. Direct light can burn the leaves.
- Water: Let it dry out some, but not entirely between waterings.
- Other: Many of these plants enjoy climbing and will climb a totem if provided.
