Water: Water thoroughly during the growing season when the top inch of soil is dry. Depending on conditions, this could be as frequent as one or more times per week. During winter months, aloe should be watered only 1-2 times per month.
Light: Aloe grows well in direct daily sunlight. A south facing indoor window works well. Be careful to monitor leaves for sunburn if placing outside, if leaves appear bleached or faded, try moving your aloe to an area that receives some shelter from the sun during part of the day.
Soil: Cactus and succulent commercial soil works well for aloe. Ensure soil drains well and does not retain too much moisture. Aloe plants need to dry out between waterings.
Fertilizer: Dilute standard houseplant fertilizer with water and can be used about once per month during the growing season.
Propagation: After some time, aloe will likely produce an offset or pup that can be separated from the parent plant. To do so, carefully remove the parent and pup from the soil and cut the pup from the parent with a pair of sterilized scissors or knife. Repot both again in separate pots.
