Anthurium โBig Red Birdโ (Anthurium sect. Pachyneurium)
Long, lance-shaped leaves emerge green and turn red in bright light or cool temperatures. The foliage has a slight wave on the edges and some crinkle in the leaf. โBig Red Birdโ is in the Anthurium genus in the section called Pachyneurium. These are birds-nest anthuriums with a rosette growth habit and the emerging leaves are rolled inward towards the central leaf vein. In bright light, the central leaf vein is reddish, just like the leaves. Grow in bright indirect light in the home or partial shade outside. Keep the soil lightly moist. This is an excellent plant for indoor gardens since itโs resilient and hard to kill. When grown outdoors in tropical locations, โBig Red Birdโ can reach up to 6โ tall with 3โ long leaves. Itโs truly impressive!

The shipment arrived in a timely manner and my plant was well packaged. When I unwrapped it I was presented with a beautiful unusual plant. It didn’t show much signs of stress from the trip. This is a good source for plants.

I think we suffered a little stress from the journey as it lost 3 or 4 leaves and the box it was in was damaged. But the plant is coming around and starting to recover because it is a very healthy plant.
