Jade Plant (Crassula ovata) is a flowering succulent with tubular, fleshy leaves with a reddish tinge on its tips. It is native to South Africa. This succulent thrives in bright and indirect sunlight if planted at home. Near a sunny window would be ideal.
It is a housewarming plant that brings good luck, wealth, and prosperity to its owners. Use a succulent mix that is well-draining. Just like any other succulent plants, they don’t appreciate overwatering coz it can lead to root rot.
Succulent stems and leaves are designed to store water so only water this plant if the soil is completely dried out, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Jade Plant is toxic to cats and dogs, so make sure not to mingle with them. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a balanced 20-20-20 fertilizer will help them grow healthy.
You can propagate them via cuttings. You can grow them in USDA hardiness Zone 11-12.
