The Mature String of Hearts is a fantastic hanging plant that is native to South Africa, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe. Due to its dark green leaves that are variegated with silver markings, or in cream, pink, and green heart-shaped, patterned leaves. This beautiful succulent has stolen the hearts of many collectors. It can grow up to 3 inches in height and has purple-toned stems that can reach between 3 to 9 feet in length, so hang this plant high, so that you can clearly see how beautiful it is when it cascades out of the pot in long strands.
The String of Hearts likes heat and bright light but does not tolerate direct sunlight.
It can be grown outdoors as a sprawling ground cover, in rock gardens, or for cascading down walls during the summer months or even all year round, depending on the temperatures where you reside, which should stay above 40 degrees. If not, it is better to grow this succulent in a planter that can easily be moved indoors during the colder months
.
Too much sunlight can cause the leaves of the String of Hearts to scorch (browning or crispy leaves, dry leaf-edges, stunted growth), but lack of exposure will cause issues like discoloration or overwatering. If you plan to grow your plant outdoors, make sure to put it in a location where it can get 3 to 4 hours of bright, indirect sunlight and some shade in the afternoon. Gradually acclimate it first to stronger light when moving it from indoors to outdoors during the summer to prevent sunburn.
If you intend to grow the String of Hearts as an indoor houseplant, place it near the brightest window possible (South or West facing windows is highly recommended), and keep the temperature at 80 to 85 degrees and 60 degrees during winter. If grown outdoors, it should be placed in a bright, shaded area.
Succulent plants are among the hardiest, most drought-tolerant in the world and very easy to maintain, as long as they are planted in a porous cactus/succulent soil, given proper drainage, daily bright light, and not over watered.
You will receive a well-established, rooted plant, from a 6 inch pot, sent bareroot and packaged with great care. It will be shipped via USPS Priority mail.
If you are ordering from an area with weather below 32 degrees, please consider purchasing a heat pack.

It’s a nice cactus. The only reason I give 2 stars is because of the description of it being rare and monstrose. It is exactly as pictured but the description certainly had me wondering. A totem pole cactus is not a San Pedro cactus and it did not look like a monstrose cactus. To clear things up for people, it is a typical pc variety cactus. Well packaged and nice specimen but run of the mill variety. Nothing rare to add to a collection
