Peperomia axillaris is an attractive and cute succulent that has bright green foliage with thick and fleshy, peapod-like leaves and produce unscented yellow flowers as they mature. They are easy to grow and easy to care for as long as you provide them with proper care. It thrives in bright, indirect light and a well-drained soil mix.
Peperomia is native to South America. You can plant them in a pot and place them on a tabletop for decoration. It is a lovely addition to your collection of plants, especially if you have it displayed in a beautiful pot.
Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season from spring to summer using a cactus and succulent fertilizer will help them grow faster. The only way to propagate them is via leaf and stem cuttings.
You can grow them in USDA Zones 9-11. This plant is toxic to humans and pets, so make sure not to mingle with them.
***
Peperomia axillaris is a precious little shrub-like succulent with translucent-green peapod-like leaves. He likes bright light but doesn’t need direct sunlight. A peperomia flower stalk is covered with teeny-tiny flowers that have no scent.
Unlike most tender succulents, Peperomia don’t like to dry out completely between watering. Ideal in warm climate landscapes and container gardens.
