Ficus elastica, commonly called India rubber plant, India rubber bush or India rubber fig, is native from the Himalayas to Malaysia, Sumatra and Java. It is a broadleaf evergreen shrub or tree that may grow to 50-100’ tall in its native habitat. It is widely grown in the tropics as an ornamental tree. Mature trees develop banyan-like aerial roots that form trunks. In colder climates, this is an extremely popular houseplant that typically grows to 2-10’ tall. It is noted for its thick, leathery, glossy, dark green leaves (to 12” long and 5” wide) and pink to purplish stipules. Milky sap from these trees was used to make an inferior rubber in the early 1900s. Small oblong axillary fruits (1/2” diameter) in pairs are rarely seen on plants outside of its tropical native habitat.

All plants are shipped USPS priority or UPS. If you want any other way shipped, please message before purchase. Plants are shipped only on Tues or Wed.
Refund Policy
Pot Hedz Plant Shop does not accept returns of plants, but we do offer a plant replacement policy. Please take a photo of your plant and email us at Pothedzplants@gmail.com within 24 hours of your plant being delivered to start the replacement process on all Pot Hedz Plants except where noted otherwise. It is at our discretion to determine whether a replacement, refund (partial or full) or store credit will be issued. We may request further documentation and photos. Pot Hedz does not replace plants if they are left in extreme temperatures upon delivery or if not removed from box immediately after being delivered. Thank you for your support. Beautiful plant, I loved the way they packaged it.

So cute! I potted them together. Roots were a little darker than I expected.. maybe taken out of soil before shipping. Otherwise leaves were cute and clean and green 🙂
