The majestic Eastern White Pine is a large, fast-growing tree for spacious properties that makes one of the quickest and prettiest evergreen privacy screens you can buy. Let this wonderful native Pine’s fluffy clouds of soft, blue-green foliage absorb traffic noise and headlight glare while filling your yard with the fresh, calming fragrance of Pine needles and the relaxing “whisper” of the wind through Pine trees. White Pines also provide food and shelter for countless species of birds and other wildlife. And to top it all off, unlike many fast-growing trees, White Pine is remarkably long-lived, so this legacy tree will not only please your household but will enrich the lives of several generations to come. Eastern White Pine is declared to be the tallest tree in North America.
– Can be expected to grow in Hardiness Zones 3–8.
– Grows to a height of 50–80′ and a spread of 20–40′ at maturity.
– Transplants easily.
– Works well for windbreaks.
– Features long, slender, blue-green needles, sometimes reaching 5″ in length, grown in bundles of 5 that are soft and flexible.
– Produces elongated brown cones that are 3–8″ in length. Each is curved slightly and has smooth scales.
– Grows in an oval, pyramidal shape.
– Fast growth rate, with height increases of more than 24″ per year.
Full sun and partial shade are best for this tree, meaning it prefers a minimum of four hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight each day.
Eastern White Pine needs acidic, moist, well-drained, and dry soils. While it does best in moist soil, the tree can have been known to tolerate everything from dry, rocky ridges to bogs.
Handling time is 3-5 days, This is the time period before it ships.

Eastern White Pine saplings arrived today. Very healthy, bare roots and packaged safely. Much better quality than many online nurseries. We have them soaking in cold water and a couple aspirin before planting in outdoor pots tomorrow. After a couple years in the pots we’ll transfer them into the ground. We are at the bottom of planting zone 8 and in limestone laden Texas hill country soil. We are going to try these in well amended acidic soil and fingers cross they will grow into wonderful additions to the arbor diversification we are trying to create in our phase 2 forest regrowth.

Arrived in great shape, packed well. Met my expectations.

May I suggest cardboard boxes with ventilation ? Horsetail plants are very hardy and beautiful plants… but, I have to be honest- these plants took a tremendous amount of abuse! They were shipped in a slightly padded envelope… where they were at the mercy of USPS for over a week. When delivered, instead of USPS walking over to my porch and ringing the bell, USPS left them inside of my black metal mailbox during 90 + degree weather in August… where they baked in the metal box for SIX HOURS before I happened to log into my e-mail account and receive a delivery message ! Some of the stems were yellow and I had to throw them into the trash. The plants that made it through the torment… are actually very decent in appearance, especially in light of what they endured before I took them out of the packaging.
They look so beautiful and healthy and fresh ! They were obviously prepared for shipping with the utmost TLC. 🙂
