Red Twig Dogwood has attractive colored branches in winter that make them popular in winter landscaping. In summer and fall, the beautiful foliage of green suits the red stems, which last through winter and produces white flowers in spring and summer, followed by blue and blackberries as they mature. The berries can be toxic to humans and pets, so avoid not mingling with them.
This plant can grow up to 6–9 feet tall, and 8–12 feet wide. It is native to North America, where they thrive in full sun to partial shade. You can propagate them via hardwood cuttings.
Red Twig Dogwood can grow in fertile and moist soil. Watch out for scale, leaf miners, and bagworms, and use insecticidal soap to eliminate them. You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zones 3-8.
