Comfrey – Russian Bocking 14, The Most Beneficial Plant, Symphytum Uplandicum – The botanical name for Comfrey. It’s one of the most useful plants for your garden and property. Comfrey is amazing for your garden! It contains high levels of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium which are very beneficial to growing a garden. Comfrey has very long roots that carry these natural necessary fertilizers that are crucial to a gardener. These natural fertilizers are ideal for vegetables, especially tomatoes, and potatoes. The Comfrey leaves can be harvested and made into garden compost tea as a fertilizer added to plants.
Compost Tea Recipe – A simple recipe for Comfrey leaves and water. Add Comfrey leaves to a barrel, about ¼ of the barrel, and fill the remaining barrel with water. In 4 weeks your compost tea will be ready for fertilizing your garden.
Comfrey is a perennial herb and is traditionally used as herbal medicine. It thrives in a well-draining mix and in full sun to partial shade.

Chicken approved! The cutting I received had a couple of leaves that had gone a bit floppy so I decided to throw them in with some of the girls’ favorite weeds for snacking. They were the first things they scratched out and an exciting game of chicken football ensued! The most amazing thing is they’ve never had comfrey! I received a healthy sized knuckle and I couldn’t be more please. Very well packaged and survived in the fridge for a couple of days before I had time to plant it. Thank you, I’ll be ordering in the future for sure!

I’ve ordered two separate comfrey plants. Comes as a bare root. I’m very pleased with the quality. They are super hardy and grow quickly. Great plants!!!

I refrigerated my comfrey for close to 2 weeks. I ordered a crown and some root cuttings. I transplanted them a few days ago into pots. Within 48hrs the crown responded with new growth! I amended the soil with a lot of minerals and organic matter to help the plant absorb as much of it as possible. After they grow considerably more, I will then transplant in various spots throughout the property. Very happy with my purchase and the instructions. Buy with confidence!

Exceptional. The crown has an attached green leaf which shows how fresh the cutting is. Ours is already shooting up new growth after only 8 days. Highly recommend this vendor.

Five stars for the extra care and love! Despite my package getting delayed for several days in transportation and then box being completely crushed from a USPS worker forcing the box into a parcel locker half the size, I was soooo grateful to see all four plants healthy and hearty because the seller put extra care into her preparation and packaging prior to shipping. The plants were wrapped with damp substrate- as well as twist-tied to the box to prevent them from the shock of rattling around. Green foliage, healthy roots. I can’t imagine the shape they’d be in if it wasn’t for that extra effort! I’m eager to see how the plants flourish in my food forest and orchards. Will definitely be ordering again from the seller next season.
