Dragon fruit is a tropical cactus species that can tolerate more water, but still prefers well drained soil. Dragon fruit grows best up poles, fences, and trees. The dragon fruit will snake it’s way upwards, and when it drops downward will bloom and fruit. Dragon fruit does not like cold weather and survives in zones 9-11. The red fruits are known as a superfood and are a popular tropical fruit.
