Agave Blue Flame is an evergreen succulent with a beautiful rosette and has thick, blue-green leaves, acceptable tooth margins, and a terminal spine. It originates in North America, where they can grow up to 2-3 ft tall and 3-4 ft wide. Agave Blue Flame is a hybrid between Agave shawii and A. attenuata.
It thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained loamy and sandy soil. Growing them requires very little care and needs little water to thrive. You can grow them in a succulent garden, where they can give a dramatic focal point in your space.
Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and ensure excellent drainage to avoid root rot. Fertilizing them during their growing season using a slow-release fertilizer will help them grow healthy. You can propagate them via offsets.
You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zone 8-11.

The Basics
Agave ‘Blue Flame’ is a beautiful clumping, hybrid agave that brings a tropical feel to any landscape. Rosettes of glaucous blue-green foliage resemble a blue gas flame, with gracefully incurved leaf tips. This solitary grower has flexible leaves with finely serrate margins and a terminal spine.

Amount of Water: Water regularly; more frequent watering in extreme heat
Soil Conditions: Prefers dry, well-drained soil; Drought tolerant
Cold Hardiness Zone: 6-10
The Care
This low-maintenance evergreen grass needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. The first year of growth requires watering weekly. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Pruning is not required.

When I first received I was concerned about the 5 leaves on my little plant. Their condition. In my years of collecting cactus and succulents I know how fragile the pups removed from adult plants seem. How ugly the leaves are on some. I know with new growth the plant will look better. Owner of shop reassured me and gave me some advice. Very helpful. Look forward to new growth.
