The varied geological terrains of the Sonoran Desert provide many different kinds of parent materials in which soils form. Gravelly or stony alluvial fans that spill out of mountain drainages into adjacent basins cover much of the face of the Sonoran Desert. The sediments transported all the way to the floors of these basins are usually much finer sands, silts, and clays. The mountains themselves possess various rock types, slopes, and exposures that offer a complex array of different soil-forming environments.

Shipped secure and clean so nothing broke open or spilled out. It was organized so well and nothing was damaged even when shipping with live cactus paddles! I am impressed. There was good sized rocks from the desert, so you may need to strain if using for seedlings, but it is absolutely perfect amount for my new cactus.

My first cactus, so I don’t really know what’s good or bad. Appears to be in good condition. It did have one dried out calloused spot about an inch long. Other places I’ve ordered plants from have provided very good care and planting instructions. Plantly’s “see the internet/YouTube for care and instructions” was very disappointing.
