Description from Harri Lorenzi’s Fruits of Brazil:

“A large shrub or small tree, 2-4m (6-10 feet) tall, with many branches, rising from the base, creating a clump, native to the forested levees in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Leaves dark green on top and whitish underneath, from 3-6 cm long, a copper color when new. Flowers solitary with petals and stamens initially white, then turning pink, form in September-October (in Brazil). The fruits are round berries, black and glossy, crowned by long persistent sepals. The pulp is succulent, yellowish, sweet and tasty. They mature in September – October (in Brazil).”

  7. I have purchased now three cold hardy citrus (citrandarin, and swingle citrumelo) both are in ground, doing great, but this thomasville cintrangaquat is shriveled, looks dry, and not happy. Little concerned this one is not going to make it and do as well as the other two.
