Add more color to your pollinator garden! Asclepias tuberosa is native to most of the U.S. and is usually orange, but sometimes plants magically take on local characteristics, like this yellow beauty that was found in Colorado. A unique milkweed that will delight your visiting monarch butterflies who are dependent on milkweed for food and habitat. Drought tolerant and practically care free.

Botanical Name: Asclepias tuberosa

Native: Apocynaceae (formerly Asclepiadaceae) Dogbane family, includes butterfly flower and true vinca.

Hardiness: Perennial in USDA zones 3 and warmer

Plant Dimensions: 18″–24″ tall

Variety Information: Individual flowers ½”, borne in brilliant yellow clusters.

Exposure: Full sun

Bloom Period: Summer
