This listing is for Horsetail root clusters! Please select the number of root clusters you want from the drop-down options above. These are freshly harvested from our nursery every time they are ordered. the bundle may or may not contain shoots on them* at this time of year, they are just root clusters, no reeds attached. These root bundles can be planted from spring to fall in all zones in the United States. These can be stored as well until you are ready to plant as long as they are kept slightly damp. You will want to plant these Horsetail bulbs about 2 inches under the soil. The main purpose of this listing is the root clumps, not the reeds themselves. If you are looking for reeds, please check our Etsy store, as we have several listings for Horsetail Reeds. For the soil you want to use something with no fertilizers, so no Miracle grow (it is acidic, and will kill the bulbs) We suggest you use a peat-moss/sand mixture, you can buy this at your local grocery or home improvement stores. If you would like a recommendation, please send us a message and we can send a link for a bag you can order online. Water the bulbs a couple of times a week. These guys can start growing pretty quickly if planted in the spring or summer. If you plant these bulbs in the fall, you most likely will not see much growth if any before spring. Horsetail is a winter-hardy perennial. They do spread quite a bit, so unless you are wanting that, we suggest you plant in a raised bed, container, or a sealed garden bed. Our Horsetail clusters will grow up to 4-6 feet tall, as long as they are cared for correctly. These are shipped in zipping sealed or vacuum-sealed bags with a little bit of air and soil wrapped in a damp towelette to ensure safe shipping. We take full pride in our shipping method and can assure you they will arrive to you beautifully. If anything does happen, we will replace your order the same day, just let us know 🙂 **Depending on the season, we may send these root bundles with small horsetail reeds attached 4 to 9 inches tall (babies/shoots), these reeds are not guaranteed to survive as they are extremely fragile, but they sometimes do. If you purchase these after august, they will probably not have babies because the small shoots have already grown to full length.**

I purchased a set of these trees about a month ago and absolutely adore them. They have proven to be so sturdy and beautiful that I bought them again, this time for my niece. She received her new trees yesterday and loves them. Thank you 😊

Fast delivery, carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition. Plants were in amazing shape on arrival. When ordering, I recognized these plants can be difficult to transplants and some are struggling. Hope they survive.
