Alocasia amazonica bambino has beautiful dark green foliage with striking white veins. It thrives in bright and indirect light and moist soil. Exposing these beauties to full sun will burn their leaves.
Be mindful of the mix that you are using. Although they like moist soil, make sure it’s not soggy. Alocasia is prone to root rot so use a soil mix that is well-draining ( succulent mix with orchid bark ) and a pot with excellent drainage holes.
Soil that is too dry is not ideal for this plant, so if the plant is underwatered, it will invite spider mites. So be sure to check on your mix and foliage all the time. Alocaisa bambino is a tropical plant and it thrives well in high humidity.
If grown indoors, invest in a humidifier at home or mist the plant for constant moisture. You can propagate them via division. You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zone 9-11.

  4. Eastern White Pine saplings arrived today. Very healthy, bare roots and packaged safely. Much better quality than many online nurseries. We have them soaking in cold water and a couple aspirin before planting in outdoor pots tomorrow. After a couple years in the pots we’ll transfer them into the ground. We are at the bottom of planting zone 8 and in limestone laden Texas hill country soil. We are going to try these in well amended acidic soil and fingers cross they will grow into wonderful additions to the arbor diversification we are trying to create in our phase 2 forest regrowth.
