Light Requirement: Golden Pothos thrives in a variety of lighting conditions. It can tolerate low light but will exhibit the best growth and variegation in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as it may scorch the leaves. Place it near a window with filtered light or in a well-lit room.

Temperature: This plant is adaptable to a wide range of temperatures. It prefers average room temperatures between 60 degrees F to 80 degrees F. Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations.

Watering: Water the Golden Pothos when the top inch (2.5cm) of the soil feels dry to the touch. It is better to underwater than to overwater, as the plant is susceptible to root rot. Ensure good drainage by using a well-draining potting mix and a container with drainage holes.

Humidity: Golden Pothos can tolerate a wide range of humidity levels but prefers moderate to high humidity. Must the leaves occasionally with room temperature water or place the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water to increase humidity, especially in drier indoor environments.

Fertilizer: Feed the Golden Pothos with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every four to six weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilization during the winter months when growth slows down.

Pruning: Regular pruning helps maintain the plant’s shape and encourages bushier growth. Trim back any leggy stems or yellowing leaves to promote new growth.

Pests and Diseases: Monitor the plant regularly for common pests such as mealybugs and spider mites. If detected, treat the infestation promptly with organic insecticidal soap or neem oil. Good airflow around the plant helps prevent fungal diseases.

Additional Tips:

  • This plant arrives in a 2.5” nursery pot with soil. (depth 3”)
  • Rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth and prevent leaning towards the light source.
  • Clean the leaves gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and keep them looking vibrant.
  • Golden Pothos is considered mildly toxic if ingested, so keep it out of reach of children and pets.
  • With its stunning golden foliage and low maintenance nature, the Golden Pothos is an ideal choice for both beginner and experienced plant enthusiasts. Enjoy the beauty and benefits this versatile houseplant brings to your indoor space.
