This species had a odd dark V vein down the center of each leaf.
This is a gorgeous addition to a tropical style landscape. Its enormous size makes it an eye-catching centerpiece for a circular drive, a beautiful single specimen in the yard, or an exotic accent at the corner of the house.
Colocasia Pharaoh’s Mask grows to 4 to 5 feet tall. The petioles are dark black, and each leaf is dark green with a nice reflective sheen. The main attraction is the highly contrasting black veins that are raised off the leaf. These bulky veins protrude off the leaf giving it a 3D effect. As the leaves mature the center of the leaves push out and the edges pull back giving it a uniquely shape and texture leaf. Colocasia Pharaoh’s Mask PPAF has a clumping habit and does great in containers or in landscapes. A nice cluster of them make for a big impact with the stripped foliage and dark stems that is unlike any elephant ear on the market.
Because of its immense size at maturity, it works best in large areas. Avoid placing one too close to other things that can be overwhelmed by this plant’s huge mature size.
Elephant ears plant – with its gigantic leaves and jungle look – is the ultimate in a tropical landscape.
*Please note, colocasias naturally drop leaves often, especially under stress, but they replace them with new growth quickly. It is possible it may lose a leaf or two during shipment, but this DOES NOT mean it’s dead or dying. The tuberb is still healthy and will keep regrowing once adjusted to its new environment. They can be sensitive to quick change. Just a little patience and it will be growing strong in its new home.
PLANTS ARE NOT PERFECT! While we try our best to make sure every plant looks amazing, it is possible that a small burn spot or tiny hole may be present. We do grow our plants organically and some are grown outside, so it’s possible for nature make a small imperfection.
