Begonia Pavonina
$32.00$40.00 (-20%)
Peacock feather look-a-like leaves of Begonia Pavonia give it a common name as Peacock Begonia. At certain angles, light incident on the leaves reflects unique and bright blue shades with dark red hues. The shift from greener to blue shade helps the plant absorb more light. The plants are native to Malayasias’ Mountainous Rainforests. Usually, the rainforest receives low light, and color changes compensate for the exposure vs. high absorption

Unlike other ornamental plants of the family, the Begonia Pavonina needs a proper maintenance routine. Soil is the most critical for the optimum growth of the leaves. The soil that allows water to drain quickly with essential nutrients is an ideal soil for the plant. The water retained in the soil damages the well-established roots. Roots rotting is a serious condition that demands immediate treatment to prevent the plant from wilting. Sphagnum moss and perlite mix in a recommended ratios is a suitable soil mix.
Light is another important factor for plant’s growth. It needs enough sunlight to grow and flourish. Artificial light can not compensate for the need for direct sunlight. The swift in shades anyhow enhances the pace of light absorption in the native rainforest. Like any other plant, it needs an adequate amount of moisture. During the summer season, it needs more water and in winter the demand considerably reduces.
Imitating the native conditions of mountainous rainforests, the plant tends to flourish in colder weather. Warm and humid nights are not in favor of the plant yet can not survive the freezing temperatures. Ranging from 12 C to 15 C on the colder side and 24C maximum for the warmer side. The plant with vibrant and color-changing leaves adds an exotic look to your indoor/outdoor vegetation.

My plant arrived pretty banged up but the seller worked with me to make things right, thank you!
Beautiful but a little deceiving from what the picture shows as this is what I received! I’m sure it will grow to be beautiful but I definitely didn’t get what was in the picture.
Very cute, just as described. Packaged very well, no damage in transit other than maybe a few dried out spots on the leaves. Thank you!
Arrived a bit withered, smaller than expected.. hopefully will pick up gracefully!
Shipped quick and in good health but a little less growth than expected but better than others iv ordered.
