Indian comb cactus, Pachycereus pecten-aboriginum, $200. It is a very large, v-shaped branching cactus and a member of the genus of Earth’s largest cacti. Plants and seeds are found infrequently in cultivation.
Growing very fat, fast, and well in a mix of mineral and organic substrate. Having cut these from their original seed-grown thin base for a thicker, better-growing cactus, I have a 100% success rate rooting the cuttings and pupping out stumps. They can grow up to 49 feet tall and are found in Sonora, Sinaloa, Chiapas, Baja, and Chihuaua.
Good to about 30f but should be covered to prevent frost. Highly Florida-able in well-drained mix for Central, and South Florida, like its co-regents of the same genus P. weberi and P. pringlei.
