Sarracenia x Daina’s Delight aka Dana’s Delight, is an amazing hybrid pitcher plant. It has a ruffled red, pink and white lacy lid with the upper tube tinted with hot pink. Daina’s Delight wakes up late in the season. While most sarracenia are on their way out, Daina’s Delight is looking its best. This complex cultivar is a cross between S. willisii x leucophylla, which in turn is ((S. psittacina x purpurea) x (purpurea x (flava x purpurea)) x leucophylla and it was developed by Mark Edwards in the 1990s, and is named after his daughter Daina. Selling 2 plants of 1 division each. Plant will ship bareroot. I have Sarracenia potting media available for sale ( check my other listings) or contact me and I can give you the mixing ratios.
Sarracenia are very easy to grow, but have certain special requirements. They require full sun and constant moisture. Best way to grow them is sitting on a deep dish with 3/4″-1″ of mineral free water (Distilled, Reverse Osmosis, or Rainwater) this is very important, as they are sensitive to minerals, needless to say, tap water is not an option. Plastic pots are best, or glazed clay pots only. Clay pots not completely sealed with glaze will leach minerals into media and kill the plant.
All my plants are healthy and pest free. All purchases on or after Wednesday will ship the following Monday to avoid plants spending the weekend at the post office. Not responsible for frozen plants or delays from postal service, that’s out of my hands. If you require a heat pack, I have some for sale, check under my other listings. I’m not making any money on these, I have them there for YOUR convenience. They are priced at $6 that’s to cover my cost. I have visited their nursery, they are extremely knowledgeable and have an amazing collection. Always high quality.
Received after 3 days I ordered. They arrived in a box. All wrapped loosely by used newspapers. You can see the roots with some soil still attached. I planted them in pots the next day. I put them in my sun room. Hope they will grow healthy and see the flowers soon.
