This monstrose form of the Lophocereus schottii is known as Totem Pole Cactus because of its notchy growth can resembles faces carved into its girth. While Lophocereus schottii grows natively in mainland Mexico, Baja Mexico, and the southern extreme of Arizona, this form is found exclusively in an area near El Arco in the Baja peninsula.
