Mammillaria elegans is a ball-like, flowering cactus with spines. It is native to Mexico, this dense, globular succulent produces long-lasting rings of magenta flowers that are in contrast with its white hairs. Growing them is easy and doesn’t need much care once established.
They thrive in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil mix. Mammillarias are not cold-hardy plants but are heat tolerant, and it thrives at a temperature of 70 to 80 degrees F ( 21-27 degrees C ). Refrain watering in the winter.
Water deeply and wait for the soil to dry before watering again, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Fertilizing our beautiful cacti can be done during their growing season using water-soluble fertilizer will help them boost healthy growth.
