Sinninginia tubiflora is drought tolerant, relatively hardy (to Zone 7b) & has beautiful fragrant flowers. Producing a mound of soft, grey-green leaves about 1’ high, from which 2’ long stems rise, topped by large tubular, whitish-pink flowers. They are deliciously fragrant, reminiscent of sweet lemon. The foliage & flowers emerge from potato-like tubers in Spring. Supposedly needs full sun to bloom, even in hot climates, although they will bloom fine in part shade. Heat & drought tolerant. Attracts hummers.

I have purchased now three cold hardy citrus (citrandarin, and swingle citrumelo) both are in ground, doing great, but this thomasville cintrangaquat is shriveled, looks dry, and not happy. Little concerned this one is not going to make it and do as well as the other two.
