Gymnocalycium ferrarii endemic of Argentina Catamarca, La Rioja. It is a flattened solitary cactus that differs from the related Gymnocalycium glaucum by its smaller bodies and redder epidermis. It grows in open areas under the protection of low bushes. It often form large groups and is extremely variable. It is a relatively rapidly growing and easily flowering species that will make clumps given the best conditions. It likes very porous standard cactus mix soil. Use pots with good drainage and Water regularly in summer, but do not overwater (Rot prone), keep dry in winter. Feed with a high potassium fertilizer in summer. Reputedly somewhat resistant to frost if kept on the dry side prior to, and during, cold weather (hardy to 10° F, or less for short periods). Grow outside with bright but filtered sunlight or afternoon shade, inside it needs bright light, and some direct sun. Tends to bronze in strong light, which encourages flowering and heavy spine production.

Great addition to my succulent and cactus collection. Completely satisfied with this purchase. Highly recommend this seller. Thank you.

Received after 3 days I ordered. They arrived in a box. All wrapped loosely by used newspapers. You can see the roots with some soil still attached. I planted them in pots the next day. I put them in my sun room. Hope they will grow healthy and see the flowers soon.
