Adromischus marianae v Herre is one of a kind small succulent shrub that is native to South Africa. It thrives in bright and indirect light and well-drained soil mix. It has thin and short branches and can grow up to 10 cm tall.
The leaves are greenish-brown with a rough and grooved texture and slender spikes of green, tinged with pink flowers. You can plant them in a pot and place them in an area where they can get enough sunlight to thrive. Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot.
You can grow them in USDA Hardiness Zones 10a-11b at 30-50 degrees F. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a cactus and succulent fertilizer will help them grow faster and healthier. The easiest way to propagate them is via leaves, cuttings, and seeds.
***
Adromischus marianae v herrei is a unique and small succulent that has its origins in South Africa. This plant has several thin branches along with distinct leaves that grow in a bunch. These leaves are usually quite thick and can grow in different colors such as grey, red, green, brown or purple. As they mature, these leaves tend to become waxy and tapering and usually have several ridges on their surface, lending them a rough texture. The flowers are green and pink in color. These plants are commonly found between gaps in granite. Protect from frost. Main picture is of my mother plant, all others are shown here in 2.5″-3″ pots (for size reference) are the pictures of the actual plants being sold. First customers will get the larger plants. Plant may ship bare root.
It is particularly easy to grow and rarely affected by common succulent pests and diseases. Strong, drought-tolerant roots will grow if they have great drainage and infrequent water. Pick deep containers with drainage holes and a gritty, well-draining soil that is 50% to 70% mineral grit (coarse sand, pumice, or perlite). Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole and allow the soil to completely dry before watering again.
