Tradescantia Nanouk is a trending houseplant on Instagram that bring colors to your home. It has gorgeous stripes of bright green, pink & purple leaves. Tradescantia is a patented plant that was developed in the Netherlands in 2012.
It thrives in bright, indirect light, well-draining soil mix, and humid environments. It is the easiest houseplant to care for once established. You can plant them in a pot or in a hanging basket and place them on bookshelves where they cascade down their beautiful foliage.
Allow the soil to dry before watering them, and make sure there is an excellent draining hole in the pot to prevent root rot. Fertilizing them once a month during their growing season using a general all-purpose houseplant fertilizer to help them grow faster and healthier. This beauty is toxic to humans and pets, so make sure not to mingle with them.
You can propagate them via tip and stem cuttings. Watch out for spider mites and use insecticidal soap to eliminate them.
Tradescantia Nanouk does well in bright, indirect sunlight or full sun. Water your Tradescantia Nanouk once a week or when the top inch of the soil is dry. Be careful not to overwater them. Tradescantia Nanouk is less likely to be sensitive to humidity due to its thick leaves. Tradescantia Nanouk prefers temperatures up to 75°F during the day and above 55°F during the night. Toxicity It’s considered poisonous or toxic to kids, people, and pets. Keep pets away from the sap as it can cause dermatitis and stomach upset if ingested. Feed your Tradescantia Nanouk once or twice a month with houseplant fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength. Overwatering is the main problem of Tradescantia Nanouk as it can cause fungal infections and root rot.
